RideShare Program Aims to Help Employees who Commute

UA employees who commute to campus have an option. RideShare was established to aid UA employees in finding other UA employees with similar commutes. Its express purpose is to assist in connecting employees who may wish to establish a ride sharing agreement. The University has established a bulletin board for employees who are potentially interested in forming a carpool to communicate with each other. The participating parties are solely responsible for making all arrangements, and users of the service assume all risks. This list serve may be subscribed to only by UA employees. Requests to be included on the list serve should be sent to RIDESHARE-request@BAMA.UA.EDU. Upon receipt of a request, UA employment will be verified and the employee making the request will be added to the list.

We do hope that this list can help people find suitable commuting partners. In these days of very high gasoline prices it could certainly help.

The way we have designed this list to work is as follows:

• We verify that requestors to join the list are employees of UA.
• Once you have been added to the list, you will need to post what you are looking for in a carpool.
• When you see something that may be compatible with what you are looking for, you will need to contact that individual, through the list or individually to see if a carpool arrangement can be worked out.
• All postings are archived and all of the list members have access to the archive.
