Building Information Services (BIS)

In order to keep pace with the University of Alabama’s rapid growth and change in campus facilities, the Division of Financial Affairs is pleased to introduce the Building Information Services department.  The goal of the BIS department is to gather and maintain building information for the UA campus. The BIS department collects, updates, and reports on statistical information for internal customers and Federal and State agencies. 

Vision

The vision of the BIS department is to provide reliable building information and superior customer service to the campus community in the following areas:

·      Up to date CAD files for all buildings on campus.

·      Maintain a comprehensive building inventory database including building and room information for all buildings on campus.

·      Provide reporting to meet Federal and State requirements.

·      Highly trained customer service associates devoted to providing ad-hoc queries, reports, and other building information as requested.

Mission Statement

The Building Information Services mission is to provide reliable building data to the campus community. This office provides and maintains an accurate set of campus CAD files and space inventory data.  The department will employ highly skilled customer service associates to provide building related information to the campus community upon request. This department also provides reporting to meet State and Federal requirements.
